I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Champagne Topaz is worked with as a stone of measured celebration, kept nearby during anniversaries, promotions and the quieter forms of pride that don't need an audience. Practitioners hold it as a reminder that warmth can be a discipline as much as a mood.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Champagne Topaz is a naturally coloured variety of topaz whose warm golden-brown hue derives from colour centres involving OH substitution and trace chromium. It crystallises in orthorhombic prisms with perfect basal cleavage, and the finest gem material comes from the pegmatites of Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais, Brazil, where it has been mined since the eighteenth century.
