What the lattice actually does.
Erythrite is a hydrated cobalt arsenate that forms as a secondary mineral in the oxidation zones of cobalt-, nickel- and silver-bearing sulphide deposits — the classic 'cobalt bloom' historically used by prospectors to locate silver-cobalt veins at Schneeberg and later at Cobalt, Ontario. It contains arsenic and should not be handled with bare hands or ingested.
