Q: What is Amegreen made of?

Amegreen has the chemical formula SiO₂ (Fe-bearing, colour-zoned), crystallises in the trigonal (α-quartz) system and measures 7 (Mohs) on the Mohs scale. Amegreen is the rarer cousin of ametrine, formed in the same Anahí deposit where twinned amethyst and citrine crystallise across a shared Brazil-law twin plane. In amegreen, the yellow sector is instead the green prasiolite variety - a colour produced by Fe²⁺ centres in a reducing environment. The two colour sectors reflect abrupt changes in oxidation state during growth rather than mechanical mixing.
