I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Blue aragonite is carried as a gentle throat and dream stone, worked with when the difficulty is not what to say but the courage to say it softly. Practitioners keep it close during periods of emotional recovery when speech is slowly returning.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Blue aragonite is the orthorhombic polymorph of calcium carbonate coloured pale blue by trace copper and strontium. It is significantly denser than calcite and is metastable at the earth's surface, slowly recrystallising to calcite over geological time. The Argentine and Chinese deposits produce the coralloid and botryoidal aggregates most often seen in the trade, formed by rapid precipitation from hydrothermal groundwater.
