I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Chocolate Calcite is worked with as a stone of grounded comfort, kept nearby during rest days, convalescence and the small domestic rituals that make a house feel like a body's home. Practitioners hold it as a reminder that softness can be structural.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Chocolate Calcite is a banded calcite whose warm brown colouration derives from iron oxide staining absorbed as groundwater percolated through carbonate deposits during formation. Commercial material is quarried in Pakistan and Mexico and cut into slabs, spheres and freeforms; like all calcite it is soft (Mohs 3), water-soluble in acid, and easily scratched by harder minerals.
