I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Brecciated agate is worked with as a stone of integration after fracture, particularly after abrupt endings and losses that cannot be undone. Practitioners carry it during the slow work of reassembly and speak of it as evidence that a life can be put back together in a different shape.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Brecciated agate is an agate that has been shattered by tectonic or hydrothermal action and subsequently recemented by a second generation of silica, freezing the angular fragments in translucent chalcedony. Well-known material comes from the Deccan Traps of India, from the Agate Creek field in Queensland, Australia, and from various volcanic terrains in Brazil and the western United States.
