I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Traditionally the merchant's stone: kept in ledgers and cash drawers to invite steady abundance. In contemplative use it is associated with confidence, creative will, and the restoration of solar energy in the body.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Natural citrine is uncommon. Most commercial citrine is amethyst heated to 470–560 °C, at which point the Fe³⁺ color center collapses and the stone shifts to warm yellow. Natural specimens tend toward pale, smoky-honey tones; the intense reddish-orange 'Madeira' citrines are almost universally heat-treated.
