I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Dravite is worked with as a stone of tolerant company, kept nearby during family gatherings, community meetings and the slow reconciliations that require staying in the room. Practitioners hold it as a reminder that warmth can be its own boundary.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Dravite is the sodium-magnesium end-member of the tourmaline group, named for the Drava River basin in Slovenia where it was first described. Its warm brown colour comes from iron and titanium substitution. Australian material from the Yinnietharra pegmatites and East African deposits supply most gem-quality dravite.
