What the lattice actually does.
Mookaite is a jasper formed from the silica-rich skeletons of ancient radiolaria — single-celled marine organisms — that accumulated in a Cretaceous sea. Iron oxides and hydroxides stain the resulting silica in shades of yellow, red, purple and cream. It occurs at Mooka Creek in the Kennedy Range of Western Australia.
