I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Honey calcite is worked with as a stone of gentle empowerment, held when someone is rebuilding confidence after depletion. Its warm tone is said to bring the same steadying sweetness that honey brings to the body.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Honey calcite is the golden-amber variety of calcite, coloured by trace iron and, in some specimens, minor organic inclusions or hydrocarbon staining. Like all calcite it is a trigonal calcium carbonate with rhombohedral cleavage in three directions and strong birefringence that doubles any image seen through a clear crystal. It crystallises in sedimentary and hydrothermal environments, most commercially from Chihuahua, Mexico and the Baluchistan region of Pakistan.
