Blue Flower Agate

I. The Metaphysical Reading

How the stone has been held.

Blue flower agate is a newer stone in the modern practice, carried by practitioners in early-stage creative or emotional projects that need protection before they are shown. Its plume inclusions are read as small quiet beginnings that should be allowed to keep unfolding.

II. The Scientific Reading

What the lattice actually does.

Blue flower agate is a Madagascan chalcedony in which fibrous white and cream plumes of chalcedony have grown radially into a soft blue ground during silica precipitation within a cavity. Unlike banded agate, the plume pattern records a single event in which crystallisation nucleated on scattered impurities and grew outward as feather-like sprays. The material has only been on the wider market since the mid-2010s.
