Blue tigers eye, historically called hawk's eye, is worked with as a stone of overview and honest sight from a distance. Practitioners carry it when they must speak clearly about something they can see clearly, without being drawn back down into it.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Hawk's eye is the earliest stage of the tiger's eye pseudomorph: silica has infiltrated fibrous crocidolite asbestos and replaced it while preserving the fibre structure, but oxidation of the iron to hematite has not yet occurred, so the stone retains its original blue. Continued oxidation converts it to golden tiger's eye. Nearly all commercial material comes from the Griqualand West district of South Africa's Northern Cape.
