Blueberry fluorite is a trade name for small deep-blue cubic fluorite crystals whose intense colour comes from lattice defects induced by natural radiation from surrounding uranium-bearing granites. The best material comes from the Erongo Mountain pegmatites of Namibia and from the Huanggang Mine in Inner Mongolia, China. The stone is soft and cleaves easily on the octahedron.
