I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Caribbean calcite is worked with as a stone of rest and lucid dreaming, kept on the bedside table by practitioners recovering from long overwork. It is a young stone in the modern repertoire and its lore is still being written.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Despite its name, Caribbean calcite is not from the Caribbean: the material was first commercially quarried around 2019 from a single deposit in the Baluchistan province of Pakistan. It is a natural intergrowth of soft blue calcite with white botryoidal aragonite, both calcium carbonate polymorphs, formed together in cavities of a shallow marine limestone.
