Crazy Lace Amethyst

I. The Metaphysical Reading

How the stone has been held.

Crazy Lace Amethyst is worked with as a stone of patterned reflection, kept nearby during journalling, therapy and any practice that asks for the tracing of long-repeated life themes. Practitioners hold it as a reminder that a pattern seen clearly loses much of its power.

II. The Scientific Reading

What the lattice actually does.

Crazy Lace Amethyst is a banded amethyst-quartz-calcite material from the Choique Mahuida deposit in Argentine Patagonia. Silica-rich hydrothermal fluids filled fractures in Jurassic volcanic rock, precipitating alternating bands of iron-coloured amethyst, white quartz and calcite that produce its characteristic lace-like patterns when cut.
