What the lattice actually does.
Creedite is a rare hydrated calcium aluminium sulfate-fluoride first described from the Creede District of Colorado in 1916. Its most spectacular specimens come from the Navidad mine near Rodeo, Durango, where bright orange radiating sprays grow on brown limonite matrix. It is soft and cleavable and should be handled with care.
