Elite Shungite

I. The Metaphysical Reading

How the stone has been held.

Elite shungite is worked with as a stone of grounded shielding, kept beside routers, screens and workstations by practitioners who want a small piece of very old carbon between themselves and modern electrical noise. It is treated as a stone that clears more than it charges.

II. The Scientific Reading

What the lattice actually does.

Elite (or noble) shungite is the type-I variety of shungite, a Precambrian non-graphitic carbon-rich rock from Karelia containing more than 98% amorphous carbon, including fullerene-like nanostructures. It formed from marine microbial biomass roughly 2 billion years ago and is the world's oldest known carbon-rich sedimentary deposit. Ordinary black shungite has much less carbon (~30 – 60%).
