I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Epidote is worked with as a stone of amplified intention, kept nearby during goal-setting rituals, focused meditation and the seasons of a life that reward whatever attention they are given. Practitioners hold it as a reminder to choose one's inputs.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Epidote is a calcium aluminium iron sorosilicate that forms in metamorphosed calcareous rocks and in the alteration zones of igneous rocks. The Knappenwand deposit in the Austrian Alps produced the classical dark-green striated crystals that defined the species; large modern crystals come from Pakistan and Norway. Epidote often intergrows with quartz, feldspar and actinolite.
