I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Girasol quartz is worked with as a stone of tender expression, kept close during heartfelt conversations, prayer and any practice that speaks the truth gently. Practitioners hold it as a reminder that a soft glow carries as far as a bright one.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Girasol quartz is a semi-translucent variety of quartz whose milky adularescent glow arises from the scattering of light by microscopic inclusions of water and gas within the silica lattice. It is optically distinct from moonstone (an adularia feldspar) despite the visual similarity of the two effects.
