I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Golden barite is worked with as a stone of settled confidence, held when a practitioner needs the weight of their own presence to be felt without theatrics. Its heaviness in the hand is part of the working.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Barite is a barium sulphate whose gold colour comes from trace iron-oxide inclusions rather than any structural change. Its exceptionally high density (about 4.5 g/cm³) makes it feel unmistakably heavy for a translucent mineral and is why it is the world's principal source of barium — most industrial production is used as a weighting agent in oil-well drilling fluid. Golden crystals typically grow as tabular blades in sedimentary hydrothermal veins.
