I. The Metaphysical Reading
How the stone has been held.
Kambaba jasper is worked with as a stone of ancient life, held for grounding grief, for pregnancy and for anyone rebuilding a self after long depression. Its orbs are said to remind the carrier that life has been finding a way to keep going for billions of years.

II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Kambaba jasper is a trade name for a Precambrian silicified stromatolite — a sedimentary rock formed by the layered growth of microbial (cyanobacterial) mats, later replaced by microcrystalline quartz and iron-magnesium silicates. The dark green matrix carries characteristic circular and swirling structures that are cross-sections of the original biofilm columns. It is a sedimentary composite, not a true jasper, but it accepts a high polish and behaves like one.
