II. The Scientific Reading
What the lattice actually does.
Moss agate is a translucent chalcedony in which inclusions of iron- and magnesium-rich minerals — chiefly chlorite and hornblende, sometimes iron and manganese oxides — form dendritic, moss-like patterns. It is not a true banded agate but is grouped with the agate family by tradition.
